I bought the Blueair 270E in the hope of eliminating the cigarette odours coming from the neighbouring apartments. _x000D__x000D_The air purifier is really very effective, as I haven't smelled any cold tobacco in my home for the 6 days I've been "testing" the device._x000D__x000D_ What's more, the 270E is very quiet at first speed and doesn't disturb me at all when I'm asleep. Higher speeds may be more audible, but they don't last more than 10 minutes. They are triggered only when a dust-generating event occurs (e.g., stirring a comforter causes dust to fly), or if an odor is detected (e.g., cigarettes, cooking).
