Not easy to change habits ... Not easy to make a choice ... And finally, I chose the best! So I received my 5 great sticks of real binchotan charcoal from OrinkoSending was super fast and very neat sticks, individually wrapped in a sealed kraft pouch. So, I started the adventure with some doubts, beforehand, on the effectiveness of the product ... And finally, it's true, it works! 1 stick in my carafe of tap water and eight hours later I get a purified water 🙂 The water is clear and has no taste of chlorine.I quickly adapted to the daily use of my sticks and managed to change my bad "plastic" habits.drinking tap water became a real pleasure not to mention the happiness of contributing to less pollution.and the "little extra" to fully understand the use of activated carbon, is the ebook I downloaded for free, after my purchase, offered by Orinko. That's it for the best of everything! And for the worst of it: No more chore of carrying plastic bottles... On my way, I'm also going to order the ceramic pearls to solve the limescale problems and to protect my appliances. Thanks Orinko 🙂

First boil for 10 minutes, in order to clean the charcoal, sanitize it, and rid it of its powder residues. Then, we plunge in a carafe of water (up to 1,5l) and we let soak during 1 h minimum, 4h ideally.charcoal has adsorbent qualities - and not absorbent. Recall that absorption is related to volume, it is the process by which a material will retain inside another substance, usually fluid or gas. Adsorption is related to the surface: atoms and foreign bodies adhere only to the surface.the advantages are certain: it is economic (a coal lasts three months) and it improves the taste clearly in case of chlorinated waterBut beware of false information circulating on the net: it is useless to re-boil the coal to make its virtues start again. It's false: you have to heat it up to the extreme temperatures that allowed it to be made, and no, your oven can't do it. As for the filtering virtues, for the moment, no scientific study has proven the filtering capacities of coal. So it's a leap of faith. Finally, for the followers, we will appreciate the guaranteed origin of Japan, guarantee of seriousness in the manufacture.

Until now I did not know the existence of this kind of article ... The Oriculis are delivered by 5 in a pouch. It is possible to distinguish between them thanks to the presence of a small cord of different colors. After examination they are very well manufactured and their finishes are in my opinion perfect for the use that one makes of it.The "spatula/spoon is very well realized and are polished without reproach. The "spatula/spoon" is very well made and polished without reproach ... it will be necessary to put good will to hurt itself. With the use and as far as I am concerned I had the bad habit of "scratching" my ears with all kinds of objects without obtaining in the end a satisfactory result.for me the Oriculi is a revelation ... I assure you that it is true.

I used to use bamboo charcoal in my carafe, but this product, which is more reputable, differs only slightly:- smaller sticks, so easier to use even in a narrow container- comparable price- much more solid. It's interesting because it avoids having bits of charcoal lying around at the bottom of the carafe- as efficient, but not more so- the fact that it comes from the other side of the world takes away a lot of ecology, especially since there's no shortage of oak in France (but does it have the same properties?) In the end, it works, the water is much better, but ecologically it's not great and at 200€ per kilo, it's a good deal! (fortunately, charcoal for barbecue is cheaper [and maybe as efficient ? we should try ...] !)

Following the rave reviews and my research, I think this is the most ecological and economical solution to consume filtered and dynamized water. When it comes to the taste, I am not so sure because I feel a certain aftertaste. However I heated them 10 min in boiling water as indicated...

5 sticks of genuine Japanese Binchotan activated charcoal about 6 cm long and about 2.5 cm in diameter, not individually wrapped but simply lined up in a concrete box. Before first use, boil the charcoal in water for 10 minutes, renewing the water once or twice.Gently place the charcoal in a pitcher, jug or wide-mouthed bottle regardless of whether they are made of glass, stainless steel or clay. It should always be used with drinking water such as tap water. The charcoal is fragile and can break but this does not detract from its properties.I already had Binchotan charcoals that I re-boil every month to clean them and reactivate them, so they have a life of 6 months.the advantage with these, according to the notice on the back of the box, is that they do not need to be reactivated to last 6 months! The ideal is to prepare several bottles to have always one ready to consume.after that we put it in the compost we use it as natural deodorizer in the cupboards, refrigerators... Perfect to filter the water of heavy metals, chemicals, remineralize, bring trace elements, and gives a neutral taste to the water what avoids to buy water in plastic bottle.only positive points!

I was tired of water that tasted bad. I know that you have to draw the water for a long time before drinking it but it is not always easy. At first I was surprised because the charcoals put black on my hands. It's because you have to heat them in water, let them cool down and then you can start the water cycle which is purified... Well, I'm glad to hear that everything is written on the packaging and the result is great because I like the water. We forget that the simplest things are the best. I'm glad I discovered this product.

I bought these pearls 8 months ago to be able to drink the tap water which has a very bad taste in my region. Result these pearls are just great, I don't need to buy bottled water anymore, the tap water doesn't have this bad taste anymore. I only drink tap water now. Economical and better for the environment with the reduction of waste

I have been using it for a good year now after buying a water bottle with this activated carbon. It was a small discovery, I had no idea that it was possible. The water loses its calcareous taste and I get almost the same result as my Brita at home.for those who fear that the charcoals could make the water cloudy. Well, that is not the case. There is no residue.

I weighed each stick: one weighs 23 grams, the others between 29 and 31 grams and the heaviest one is 36 grams. Therefore, I think the thinnest one (23 g) will last only 4 months, while the biggest one will last 7 months. In total, such a purchase is made to last 2.5 years (at the rate of two sticks per year).I boil the stick for 20 minutes before the first use, and I renew EVERY MONTH (I put an alarm in my phone). In addition to the treatment with the BICHOTAN charcoal, I also use the porcelain beads.I have a water tester, and indeed, letting it rest for 4 or 8 hours decreases the concentration of minerals (or metals) contained in the water.the water of my carafe loses its smell of chlorine, it's more pleasant. On the other hand, on the price side, taking into account the raw material, I find this product very expensive (29 euros), even if it's only 1 euro per month, it's only charcoal, it's not a precious product, so the price is exaggerated, it should be even more affordable.

Good product, nothing to complain about, after having filtered the water with the pearls and the carbon, no more unpleasant taste. It is obviously necessary to carry out certain manipulations before the first filtration and between the filterings (for the coal) but it is nothing compared to all the plastic bottles that I will not buy any more. Moreover, the customer service is very reactive.
